Last Friday was a Matariki celebration day. I went to Room 27 with Ms Gaston and Mrs Carter to make cookies and slime.
Matariki is a celebration in Maori culture. It is the Maori new year. In my group first I did cooking. I was with Ms Gaston and Mrs Carter. We made star cookies. First we had to read the instructions. then we made a group and made some cookies. And we had morning tea and then when morning tea was finished we made some Galaxy slime.
At the end of the day we ate some cookies and they tasted good. It was amazing fun I had the greatest Matariki day ever.

Making pan pipes
It was musical madness in Room 9 yesterday morning! Everyone got the opportunity to make pan pipes using straws, cardboard and sticky tape. Once we had checked out the sounds we could make, we enjoyed writing about the experience. Here is Shania's writing:

Our swimming - by Varnce
First of all we talked about boats and following off the boat with a lifeJacket and without a lifeJacket.Next we went to go for a shower near the Spa pool. After that we did our falling off the boat with a lifeJacket and without a lifeJacket.we put our hand on our heads and our nose.Later on we did the chain holding onto our back of the lifejacket we were paddling backwards to the person at the back of us.In the end we huddled into a group like a ball and then we had free time. we had fun.

About camp - by Shania
My highlight was dancing at the concert. We made a dance to the song We are one (Ole Ola).
Thank you to Mr Somerville, Miss Timmi and Mrs Buchanan and the rest of the teachers who helped us at camp. Even some parents helped at the pools.
At camp I learnt to try new things and not be scared of new things like kayaking.
